Terms of Service

Effective date: June 28, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MealCue (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by MealCue LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. The Service

MealCue helps you turn ingredients you already have at home into meal plans and shopping lists. Features include pantry tracking, barcode scanning, AI-generated meal suggestions, and shareable meal plans. The Service is currently in a limited pilot and may change at any time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MealCue. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Account & Authentication

Access to MealCue requires a verified email address. We use a one-time passcode (OTP) system — no passwords are stored. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure. You may not share your account with others.

5. Your Content & Data

You retain ownership of the content you add to MealCue, including your pantry items, preferences, and meal plans. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes, but is not limited to: attempting to access other users' accounts, scraping or reverse-engineering the Service, uploading harmful or illegal content, or using the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

7. Health & Dietary Information

Meal suggestions generated by MealCue are for general informational and convenience purposes only. They are not medical or nutritional advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making dietary changes, especially if you have allergies, medical conditions, or specific health goals. We are not responsible for any health outcomes arising from use of the Service.

8. Third-Party Services

MealCue relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database and authentication), Google Cloud Vision (image processing), and Vercel (hosting and analytics). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that meal suggestions will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MealCue LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using MealCue at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
